Add this red oxide to pure cement to create red shaded concrete, mortar, grout or render. Make lighter shades by adding smaller amounts of oxide. Oxide should be added by volume not weight and the amount of oxide used depends on the amount of cement in your mix, not on the other elements of the mix such as sand or aggregate - see package for further instructions.

Iron oxide pigment becomes firmly integrated in the concrete and is weather resistant, alkaline resistant, ecologically benign and economical to use. To see our full range of oxide colours, download our colour card.
*Additional information on how these samples were created: the base mix was 3:1 sand and cement (by weight). Oxide colour dosage was 5% by weight of cement only, not total aggregate (blue metal and sand). Cements used were Boral Blue Circle Builders Cement and Boral Blue Circle Off White Cement. A fine sand was also used. Note, to lighten shown oxide colours, decrease the percentage of oxide and to darken, increase the percentage of oxide to a maximum of 10% to weight of cement. Adding more than 10% will not intensify the colour. Colours shown are only an indicator; we suggest that individual trials are conducted prior to starting any work.
