A rapid hardening cement that sets in a similar time to Portland and allows concrete to be put into service after 6 and 24 hours. Particularly suited to areas subject to abrasion and wear, such as industrial floors, flume linings and spillways, and also resistant to chemicals and extreme temperatures. Used as a Portland cement accelerator in non-structural applications, including render, screeds and grouting materials.

Ciment Fondu is also often used by sculptors, attracted by its quick setting properties.
