Polythene (Poly) dampcourse is used on single brick walls to stop rising damp. Sometimes referred to as snakes skin (as that is what the surface looks like) or Visqueen. Polythene dampcourse is an embossed polyethylene sheet which has a base thickness of 0.5mm and an embossed thickness of 0.75mm.
